Data sources
- RBA Cash Rate Target — the official cash rate from the Reserve Bank of Australia, updated after each monthly board decision.
- ASIC Comparison Rate Registry — the public registry of comparison rates for regulated home loan products.
- Product Disclosure Statements (PDS) — each lender's published rates, fees, and terms, retrieved directly from their website.
- Lender rate change announcements — press releases and investor updates from Australia's major lenders.
Refresh cadence
We publish a full rate refresh every Monday at 09:00 AEST. Between scheduled refreshes, we update individual lender pages within 24 hours of a published rate change. RBA decision-day updates are published within 2 hours of the 14:30 AEST announcement.

Comparison rate calculation
Comparison rates are sourced directly from the ASIC registry where available, and calculated according to the National Credit Code formula for products where comparison rates are not publicly registered. The comparison rate represents the true cost of the loan inclusive of most fees, expressed as a single percentage.
Error correction
We log and correct data errors within 24 hours of discovery. Each correction is appended to our public changelog. Readers who identify errors can contact data@cashrate.au.
